This beautiful side opening and substantial Victorian Mother of Pearl visiting card case is offered in near perfect condition. The Mother of Pearl plaques are mounted in a diamond pattern all over the body of the case and are in good, intact state with no replacements. The hinge and catch are in perfect working order, the catch closing gently. There is a small and not visible split in the bottom seam of the concertina card holder but this is not detrimental.The opening edge is lined in bone and the interior of the case features a blue silk lining and a matching blue ‘concertina’ sleeve which holds the visiting cards.
This case measures 3” (8 cm) by 4¼” (just under 11 cm and is ½\" in depth).
