Fine quality Chinese export silver box Mirror in lid figural decor 168 gr 1900:

Exceptional, antique Chinese export silver covered box - circa 1900.
The entire surface of the body and lid are superbly hand-chased with an elaborate figural decor featuring a village at a lake-side with boats, a fisherman, men in the field, oxen, trees, bamboo, flower blossoms and rockery.
Inside the body a double wall - the lid fitted still with the original mirror showing signs of age with some loss of mercury.
Box is signed on the bottom with silversmith\'s name (partially rubbed) and indication of the silver grade (900/1000), also a small mark on side of lid - probably French assay mark indicating solid silver.
Work quality is exceptional and very appealing - fine detailing and finish.
The box is in excellent condition except condition of mirror as indicated - no losses, dents or restoration - please view pictures.
It measures 9 cm tall x 6.5 cm in diameter - the weight is 158.7 grams (including the small mirror).
