As far as Fireplace Fender Skirts go this is one of the most ornate ones I have come across.
Center portion is embellished with Oak leaves, Acorns and in the center there is a Wolfs Head.
On the back of this section it is marked Patented July 15, 1884.
Measures 42\" Wide by 14\" Deep. Stands about 6 3/4\" Tall measured at the tallest point as seen in picture.
Weighs in at about 27 Lbs. Appears to be Brass and is reinforced underneath with Cast Iron
In Antique USED condition from the late 1800\'s. There is honest wear to the metal finish from age and use in the form of scratches, small dings and age appropriate patina. Bent areas to scroll work in places. Appears to be able to be reshaped as it is not broken but that is up to the buyer. Some of the studs that hold the Scroll Work design in place will need to be repaired as they have broken free making the pieces on both the left and right loose. Could be soldered back into place but again this will be up to the buyer. Overall still an amazing piece despite the mentioned flaws that with a little TLC can be put back into service.
