HISTORY OF BUCCELLATI
Buccellati silver has been made in Milan, Italy, for centuries. Originally a goldsmith, Mario Buccellatiwas born into the family luxury metal business begun in 1750. Buccellati opened his first store in 1919 near the famed La Scala Opera House, His metalworkin gold and silver were so striking in their designs that borrowed fromthe Renaissance and Age of Enlightenment that the Royal Houses through Europe and the Vatican were (and still are) clients. Mario Buccellati\'s son, Gianmaria, began working in his father\'s shop when he was 14, and took over the family business when his father died in 1965. Gianmaria\'s designs in jewelry and silver and gold tableware became so popular that additional stores were opened in Florence, New York and Palm Beach. Today, Buccellati uses the finest metal craftsmen to execute the Buccellati family designs, and Buccellati is respected among collectors and metal experts as standing above the rest in quality and beauty.

ORIGIN AND AGE
These are from my own family, with stunning patina with normal scratches and wear for their age. They are at least 40 years old, perhaps 65 years old, and have not been used for many years. We use another silver pattern. But we have indeed been spoiled by Buccellati. Once you use it, it\'s difficult to use another brand.
