Circa 1900 Old Vintage Crazy Quilt; Entirely hand sewn with velvet fabric pieces in a rainbow of rich jewel toned colors. The quilt top is embellished with Victorian \"crow\'s foot\" stitching. Entirely hand pieced and hand stitched. The backing and binding are both cotton. Exterior size is about 70\" x 73-1/2\". Often crazy quilts are admired but rapidly deteriorate because of their use of fragile silk fabrics combined with the more hardy velvet fabrics ...the maker\'s use of only velvet patches in this quilt resulted in a vibrant, plush survivor in good condition. Ready for use on a bed or display on the wall ! Condition: This quilt appears to have been taken care of very well. There are no visible holes or tears. Upon careful inspection, I can see that a couple of the velvet pieces have minor deterioration of the velvet nap. This does not detract from the overall beauty of the quilt.
