Abeautiful collectibleset of fourU.S. postage stamps issuedon October 17th, 1970 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Fort Snelling, Minnesota. The fort waskey to controlling the fur trade and settlement of the Northwest.

In 1851, Fort Snelling became a supply depot and a training center for Civil War volunteers and was used as a staging center for soldiers during WW II. In 1960, Fort Snelling was designated a historical monument and restored to it\'s original condition.

These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as they were the day they were first sold at the post office43 years ago!

Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone who lives in or has visited the area or anyone interested in American history, military history or civil war historical sites.
