Fostoria Brocade Flower Frog Window Box Glass Vase Oak Leaf, 1920’s:

This “ sale” offers a lovely and we think rare footed window box vase with matching flower frog by Fostoria. According to our research, the oak leaf brocade pattern was produced in the 1920’s and not beyond the early 1930’s. Based on the limited production period and the perfectly matched flower frog that fits on top, we believe this is a fairly rare piece of elegant glass from Fostoria.

It measures approximately 8 inches long and 4 inches high. Condition is excellent – no chips, hairline cracks, water stains, scratches, or other issues. The flower frog is a perfect match to the window box vase and fits perfectly on top – also without chips or damage. Pictures of the flower frog show strange little lines between the holes – these are odd reflections in the glass and not cracks.

This piece is pictured on page 142 in the book “Flower Frogs for Collectors” by Bonnie Bull (see pictures).

Sister and I are retired now and building a home in the country. We need to downsize AND our interests are changing. Raising chickens and growing vegetables doesn’t require much in the departments of “sparkle or bling”.
