The TIEMPO & METROPOLITAN dinnerware lines by Franciscan Ware share one of the most distinctive shapes in Mid-Century Modern tableware, evoking both Art Deco and Streamline simultaneously. To those collectors of these distinguished lines is offered a very scarce DEMI-TASSE CUP & SAUCER, also known as an AFTER DINNER Cup & Saucer. Historically, these miniatures were aimed at those high-living sophisticates who could guzzle espressoaprés dinerand then go out for further carousing and \"whoopee!\" without having to rise early for work like the average joe or jane -- something else we post-moderns now take completely for granted. As the photos attest, this little IVORY WHITE beauty is in excellent, apparently unused condition. It hasn\'t a trace of use or damage and truly appears \"just outta the kiln\". The Demi-Cup measures 2\" square by 2 ¼\" H and is stamped \"Made in U.S.A.\" while the 5 ⅜\" soft-square Saucer is stamped with the old, round Franciscan Ware seal. VERY VERY SCARCE, particularly in such pristine condition!
