The chess set is 100% complete and has sustained no major damage or repairs. It comes with the original hardwood-inlaid game board created specifically for this set. The board is 22\" X 19 1/4 \" X 3 1/4\" and has two drawers (on on each side) which contain slots for each game piece.
THE ORIGINAL INLAID WOOD/ALL WOOD FOOTED BOARDHAS DRAWER STORAGE ON TWO ENDS FOR THE PIECES .
THE INLAID CHERRY & WALNUT BOARD is in good condition with some scratching.

THE PIECES ARE PRISTINE,JUST LIKE NEW,HEAVY AND ENGRAVED 1982 FRANKLIN MINT...
The pieces range from 3 1/2 \"- 4 3/4\" tall and are perfectly crafted of 24K gold and sterling silver plated pewter with enameled pewter shields that are hand painted with the heraldic symbols of the houses of English royalty. The chess pieces are beautifully detailed on all sides ...note the curled furl on the tail on back of the horses , their detail is fabulous ; from their expressions to their detailed manes and tails! The spectacular dragons, the regal lions and magnificent falcons are all crafted with equally impressive details. The castles are detailed with a stag running past the entry and more...the solid pieces weigh 6-7oz each and they are incredible.

It was designed by Robert Parsons, an official Herald Painter to the College of Arms, under the direction of John Brooke-Little, Norroy and Ulster King of Arms. The chess set is 100% complete and has sustained no major damage. It comes with the original hardwood-inlaid game board created specifically for this set. The board is 22\" X 19 1/4 \" X 3 1/4\" and has two drawers (on on each side) which contain green felt padded slots for each game piece. The board is still in excellent condition with some scratching. There are 32 game pieces - half of which are pewter electroplated with .995 fine silver, and the other half of which are pewter electroplated with 24K gold. Many of the pieces have amazingly detailed hand-painted enamel shields. All of the pieces are original pieces of art designed specifically for this set. The pieces are represented as follows : The Kings - The Lion of England The Queens - A Unicorn, representing Scotland (two Unicorns support the royal arms of Scotland.) The Bishops - The traditional Dragon of Wales The Castles (Rooks) - Inspired by the traditional Crest of Ireland The Knights - A Magnificent horse rearing up on its haunches- The Pawns - The Falcon (the hunting bird of kings in the Age of Chivalry.) Each pawn has a base with an arrowhead motif. Each pawn also carries a shield emblazoned with the crest representing a different ruling dynasty of Britain. The theme of the set is \"The historical kingdom of Britain - England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland - and the royal dynasties that have reigned over it for more than 1,000 years, from the early English kings to the ruling house of today, the Windsors.\"
