One of my favorite statues with a Native American theme, \"Cheyenne,\" the name I find most often associated with this piece. Cast in bronze by Franz Bergmann in Austria in the first decades of the 1900s. The original design was by Karl Kauba.
Appropriate maker\'s marks are found on the horse\'s belly (see last pic). This is genuine Bergmann.
Condition is fine. No damage to the horse or warrior (except the bow string is a replacement). Warrior is secured firmly to horse; horse secured firmly to metal base; overall piece secured firmly to marble plinth. I have seen this item on wood plinths and on stone. Finish is in fine shape as well, though please know my camera flash makes the colors look a good deal brighter and richer than they do in natural light.
6 3/4 inches tall; marble base is 9 inches long but the horse is about 12 1/2 inches long from nose to tail; base is 4 inches wide.And heavy at 10 1/2 pounds.
