It has been tested to make sure it works, and is set for a one-way bulb. It would work best with a long skinny bulb. The on/off switch can be tough to turn. The brass shade slides in past the socket, and it puts pressure on the knob, making it harder than normal to turn. There is one light dent in the base. The brass shows it’s age in spots, although I think the shade was treated to have a patina. The shade has two dented corners. The cord shows some light dents and impressions, but not deep enough to expose the wire.
