I originally bought this helmet back in the 80\'s hoping it was a Brit. Officer private purchase piece, but the brass badge on the front is more alike to the Belgian State Coat of Arms than to any British unit crest (IF ANYONE COULD PROVIDE MORE INFO ON THIS BADGE I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL!!). This French M15 Adrian type helmet, large size (approx. 7 1/4 - 7 1/2), was originally factory painted mid-war Medium Blue inside & out, it was brush repainted a Muddy Olive color (not the normal Belgian Army Brown). The dome area has several shallow dents to the left & right sides, and a small hole in the right side. The brass lion badge is mounted on the front with flat split tails. The liner is the most unusual part, it\'s a Brit Brodie without any stamps on it, well used with the oilcloth flaking off. Missing the chinstrap. SOLD AS A MILITARY COLLECTIBLE ONLY.
