Provenance:
The original WAVE Desk Series was introduced in 1992 with these 7 desk accessories as shown. WAVE was accepted to the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, New York, the nation’s design museum arm of the Smithsonian, in 1994. It was designed by Steve McGugan (see bio below), an internationally acclaimed industrial designer, for Georg Jensen (Georg Jensen was acquired by Royal Copenhagen in 1972 and thus the confusion sometimes as to provenance). The products are made from satin stainless steel and rubber. The series is out of production and highly collectible.
This complete original set is in near perfect condition and has no scratches or dents. All pieces are in their original boxes except the small tray. The set includes the important 3 links used to hook the 4 pieces together from below. These important pieces are missing from most sets and individual pieces. Extra paper in the necessary special size is included for the note holder.
Dimensions: The covered container, notepad holder, pen holder and tape dispenser each measure 6” x 6” x 1 1/4” H. The large tray measures 12 3/4\" x 10 3/4\". The small tray measures 5 1/2\" x 7\".This collectible museum quality set is priced fairly given its completeness and condition. The original set sold for much more.
