Very rare Jesuit priests praying cross 2 ¼ inch high with flat base. It was worn around the waist of a Jesuit priest in the 1600s and could be taken off, stood up, and used to pray no matter where he was at. Fort Du Baude is located in Saint Ignace Michigan and was built in the 1600s by the French.. The Jesuit priest Father Marquette was the first white man to indoctrinate the Indians into Christianity. ONE CROSS like this was found during the excavation of Father Marquettes grave at the missionary site by Dr. Eugene Peterson and the cross is now in the Obgibue museum. Dr. Eugene Peterson was the curator and chief of staff at Castle Rock located in Sait Ignace Michigan.
