G Giuseppe Armani BOY & GIRL with CHICK & CHICKENS Rare Porcelain Florence (584):

This is a truly beautiful and large older Giuseppe Armani piece which has been shown in articles about this wonderful and extremely talented artist. This statue depicts a little boy holding a chick with a little girl looking at it, with mother hen standing below them. Beautifully done, this statue stands approximately 11-1/4 inches tall on a porcelain base that is approximately 7-3/8 inches in diameter. The statue is in very good condition with normal paint misses that were common on his earlier pieces; I do not see any chips or cracks on this piece; there is a strip of lighter paint on top of girl\'s head; the statue has a bit raised on one side where it connects to porcelain base; there is a green type hue to the overall coloring used on this piece.

The porcelain base, which is extremely rare, is in very good condition and is marked with an N on bottom, but do wish to note that there is some roughness to the normal making of it, and the pads underneath are worn off as shown in photo. There is also some discoloration to the gold band on base from exposure over time. This statue is marked with G. Armani\'s signature embedded in the statue and also has a blue capodimonte crown on it. The early artwork of Giuseppe Armani has a more rougher type finish to it; the way Armani was able to bring so much character to his pieces is very evident. There is no date on this statue which was also very common on his earlier pieces.Sorry; no original box, but I will carefully package it for shipment. If you treasure Giuseppe Armani\'s artwork, this is really a wonderful rendition of his children that is very precious.
