P. 1 gives some history of the school taken from historicalrecords.

P. 2 continues with the history stating that Members ofCongress, Presidents, and Proffesors of Colleges, Governors and Missionariesto foreign lands and teachers in great numbers are among those who attended theParsonsfield Seminary. She discusses howElisha Piper was responsible for establishing a Free High School which openedin 1881. She goes on to name all of the different principals of theschool.Professor IsaiahTrufant was the Principal from 1891-1899.

P. 3 is where the heart of this report begins. She talks a bit about what has happened tothe 56 students that have passed through the doors of this school and thenshares that the Class of 1899 had 15 students:7 girls and 8 boys and gives their names as follows:

Starting on P. 4 through P. 9,she (the unknown named Historian) “gives a short Sketch of the history of eachmember of our class.” In other words aparagraph or more on each of the 15 named member of the class of 1899 in theorder as listed above. In reading these paragraphs, you really feel you knowthe graduates.

In the lastpart of P. 9 and all of P. 10 our mysterious Historian says goodbye for herclassmates to each other, the school, and the Teachers.

It is sad that we do not know the name of the author of this wonderful document; the female Class Historian, mysteriouslyunnamed. who was such a prolific writer. The love and caring she shows for these different groups within her class makes you feel you knew each one of them.

I have taken pictures of P. 1 and 10 which gives you a wonderful idea of thebeautiful handwriting and the articulate writings of this unknown Historian of the Classof 1899. If you are descended from any of these class members: your grandparent or gr-grandparent, do notmiss this item. I can find a lot of theschool history on the internet, but nothing on the Class of 1899 except who theprincipal was and who was making donations to the future of the school.

A reminder again that you are buying ACOPY OF THIS DOCUMENT NOT THE ORIGINAL. The 10 pages will be copied on legalsize (8 ½ x 14”) white paper and will be folded in half lengthwiseand put in a bubble mailer.
