This \"\" sale is for an original Confederate \"OFFICIAL BUSINESS\"cover with the imprint reading \"Headquarters, Conscript Department. COLUMBIA, S. C.\" The canceled CSA #11 postage stamp has been lifted and shifted to the leftin order to reveal the official imprint. The elongateddark area would appear to be some kind of old adhesive substanceapplied to a 1 1/2\" tear extending from the top. The same substance also appears covering a couple of tears on the back flap.
