Georgian solid sterling silver four lens double folding sides spectacles, hallmarked London 1831 makers mark ET for Edmund Taylor spectacle maker, White Horse Yard, Stanhope Street, London.
The standard frame fitted with distance lenses, the extra lenses are hinged in to place to give much greater magnification reading lenses. Distance about 0.2x reading about 2x magnification, giving the user a bifocal option.
Frame 4,9/16" or 117mm wide, weight 34 grams.
All in excellent sound condition with no damage or repair, good hinges and alignment.
In a sound black embossed paste board case, probably original, now with some wear.
Guaranteed solid silver,old and original.
