Up for sale is this antique oak Gerstner machinist tool box with 7 drawers. This box was crafted in Dayton, Ohio, as marked on the latches. The piece is also marked \"Yale\" on the biggest latch, possibly just the brand of the lock. The chest has a top compartment with the classic diamond mirror, and a lower compartment with 7 drawers. There is a slide out drawer cover which has a very unique lock mechanism. There are 2 pieces of metal which are spring loaded, and when pressed down by the top cover, they slide down into the holes of the drawer cover. The box is in good condition, though it has considerable wear. The outside is darkened, and the top has some machinist oil or lubricant on it. The green felt in each drawer has wear, such as rips, darkening, and many of them have machinist oil on them. The box also has a minor paint splatter on the drawers, top right. It has 5 metal latches, and a leather handle. The metal handle for the drawer cover is a bit bent out of shape. The item has general use wear, such as scratches scuffs and knicks. This item is estate fresh and uncleaned as requested. The box measures 20 inches wide, 12.8 inches tall and 8.2 inches deep. FREE SHIPPING.
