This is a vintage Japanese tea plate of Seto ware, which was made by one of the greatest modern potters, the 5th Sakusuke Kato (Shinya Kato, 1942-) about 30 years ago.

He is a great potter, who was designated as a Human Intangible Cultural Treasure of Aichi prefecture, Japan in 2002.

This work was made before successing the 5th Sakusuke Kato. Therfore, the signauture of his original name, \"Shinya Kato\" is written on the wooden box.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom of the plate.

The original wooden box with the signature of the potter is also included.
