RARE LIMITED EDITION !!!Goebel (Hummel)-W.Germany 13 Piece Nativity Scene/Set, 6000 Series, TMK6 (1979-1990)A Limited Edition 13 piece Nativity Scene/Set 11 figurines plus creche(manger/stable) and star in MINT CONDITION ! Purchased in 1989, it was opened, inspected for flaws(flawless!), set up for a short time, then repacked and has been stored (climate-controlled, smoke-free Environment) ever since. This series has been determined by collectors to be RARE, as it was only produced for a short time in a limited quantity. There are no scratches, chips, cracks, or crazing in any of the pieces which is in itself a rarity as figurines such as these are especially susceptible to \"crazing\" with age! There is no original box.All the figurines are fairly large, standing Joseph approximately 5 ½” and the kneeling figurines run approximately from 3 ½” to 4 ½”. All figurines have numbers under the glaze (tough to read) on the bottom beginning with the number 46, then a space, then 3 or 5 more numbers (such as 46 563, 46 564, 46 560 10, 46 561 10) . There are also initials(Hummel) on the bottom, not all the same, on all of the figurines. A statement of an appraisal states, “The 6000 series was a limited edition set and was only made for a short time. It is far more rare than the 214 series. From the research I have done, I would say that the set is worth between $2000-$2500.”
