This is a very rare original Gone with the Wind item.It\'s a chalk bookend from 1939.First one we\'ve ever offered for sale.
Chalk bookends from 1939 are incredibly hard to find.The chalk is so fragile in nature, how many could have survived?
The bookend originally came in a set of 2 - we do not have its mate.But, the one bookend makes for a beautiful display.
The bookend offers a lovely 3D image of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett & Clark Gable as Rhett Butler.Film based on the Margaret Mitchell novel.
Measures c. 5\"x1\"x5.\"
Very displayable.Terrific condition, esp when considering its age/fragile nature.Some overall wear.Some small dings/scratches.A couple of ink lines on Scarlett\'s bonnet which don\'t deter.A little dirty from age.
