The first thing that strikes you about this settee is the condition, having just been restored by my very experienced restorer (50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair.The second thing that strikes you about this settee is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this settee chose some very good quality timbers for the job, this has resulted all these years later in a settee with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by mahogany of this age and quality.
Thirdly are the proportions, the design of this settee is just right and the settee benefits from having a good balance, meaning that it “sits” well with a real “presence”
Now we know everything on is “fantastic” “glorious” “superb” “brilliant” “magnificent” “greatest” “resplendent” “superior” etc etc but when we say this is a very goodsettee we mean it.
