Gorgeousantique tambour net lace coverlet, in a creamy ivory. Soft and filmy lace, likely part silk, with a lovely and supple drape. Lots of florals in elegant tambour embroidery, with pretty cutwork elements. Photos were not cooperating on this one, though we tried to show details over a dark cloth - this is fabulous in person. Most probably it came from France.
It measures about 70 inches wide (with the center 38 inches across, and sides 16 inches each). Length is 84 inches without foot ruffle, and 100 when the ruffle is included (this was meant for a four poster bed, and is ruffled on 3 sides). Originally for a single bed, but easily lends itself to layering for a larger one.
Condition is not excellent, still very good. Estate fresh. I have not laundered, but there are no ill odors. I note some storage stains and discolorations. There are a number of seam separations. There are some openings on the net, about 3 or 4 in the center, more by the seams, and also on the ruffles. The worst are pictured in last two photos. Not a perfect tambour lace coverlet, but wonderful quality, and very beautiful!
