This sale is for a very beautiful, lush antique silk velvet textile fragment. This was salvaged from amid-1860s-1880s drapery panel swag of the Civil War/Victorian era. The selvedge shown is not included in this piece. This is of exceptional quality and is in wonderful condition aside from some silk thread wear along the edges, which does not interfere with one\'s project. There are no major rips, tears or stains.....the panel was lined with a gorgeous, unique flannel and muslin.....this velvet is of more substancedue to its cotton base, but with a high silk fiber content.....it is very lush and pliable and simply wonderful........this is a must for the collector of unique and gorgeous silk velvet textiles. Its color is a rich goldish green shade....stunning and rich in appearance. Its texture is luxuriously soft, its pile is very close to the surface and weave is tight.
