I have seen lots of West Germany candy containers, but very few angels! This one is really quite gorgeous! She is markedWestern Germany on the bottom, and is true vintage, not reproduction, from the 1950\'s. She is made from molded cardboard with "Venetian Dew" beads on her dress. These are little glass beads that are added to the light paper mache coating that refract the light to give her a bit of gleam. She is hand painted, with a beige dress and caramel colored hair. She has a tiny gold foil harp on her chest, foil enbossed wings, and a foil star and foil flowers as dressing for her hair. She is in excellent, vintage condition; there is a slight bit of age related flaws. She has some slight fading to her face and hair, and some very slight soil to her dress. There is a small area on the bottom of one side where the piece is very slightly separated at the seam. She is sturdy, and stands well. She measures 8 1/2" tall, and is quite rare, especially in this condition.
Western Germany only existed from 1945 until 1989. Before WWII, and after 1989, containers are marked simply Germany.
