GORHAM Company Sterling Silver baby or child\'s cup with a beautifully executed sceneof several children playing \"Follow the Leader\" with their antique toys in hand. Thereare little elf - pixie creatures peeking out from behind the forrest trees to catch aglimpse of these curious little child creatures marching and making sounds likesmall soldiers. That\'s my take on it anyway. There\'s room for interpretation. Thecup measures 3\" in diameter across the rim and is 2.25\" tall. Cond. is Excellent -(theres a non-obvious tiny ding on the bottom edge to the left of the handle whenthe cup issitting with the handle pointed to the right (see images for more cond. details.The ding/dent is shown in the inverted image). Marked on the bottom is the following; Sterling, A4708, and the 3 Gorham marks, \"Winged Lion\", \"Anchor\", and old english \"G\".Also,discretely engraved above the stamped marks is the previous owners personalproperty I.D. # 79-853. The same cup recently sold for $500. through theGryphon Estate Silver site(it\'s currently shown). I acquired this particular cup from the collection ofCol. Walter Merriam Pratt ofChelseaMass. A well known Industrialist, socialite, business - land owner, and militaryveteran with a richandcolorful family history in the Boston area dating back to the Mayflower. Also included with the cupis a original and very ornate 1915 PPIE, S.F. World\'s Fair Gorham Co.
