Description:Antique Gorham sterling silver .925, gold wash, cast serving spoon, in the desirable & rare 1880 HIZEN Aesthetic Japanese figural multi motif pattern, which IS monogrammed with what APPEARS to be an S. The spoon measures approximately 6 3/4 inches long, & weighs approximately 1.375 ozt. The back of the spoon is marked with the older Gorham lion anchor G & sterling. Named after an ancient Japanese province, this piece has a clam shell bowl on both sides with leaf decor, a crab & leaf decor on the handle.The spoon is in very good antique estate condition as follows;NO DENTS OR REPAIRS. THERE IS SOME SCRATCHING, WORN WASH, & WEAR CONSISTENT WITH THE AGE OF THE PIECE & NORMAL USAGE.
