The title \"Gov. of N.Y.\" under signature probably added later by a family member, as this letter is from the Seymour estate.......HORATIO SEYMOUR [1810-1886] was a New York Democratic politician who served as Governor of the State from 1853-1854 and again from 1863-1864 during the Civil War.
