Please notice that, although listed under \"quilts\", this is actually just a quilt TOP: it is NOT a finished quilt or bedspread, as there is no batting or backing beneath the pieced fabrics shown in the photos.
The fabrics are mostly gingham-like cottons, although a couple of them have different design (phot # 6, for example, the fabric that was used for the corner blocks). The setting was done by machine.
The pattern might be some kind of star, but a very similar layout of swatches is called \"Odd Fellow\'s Chain\", no. 61 in Ladies Art Company.
It is a very graphic, striking quilt top thanks to the perfect geometry of the setting and the combination of colors. Photo # 1 taken from atop the bed shows how the Op Art design of the quilt top works from a distance.
It measures approximately 84\" by 82\" across, so it is practically square. The bed is a queen, 80\" by 60\".
