Gaston Lachaise\'s original \"Sailors\" Sculpture, Taken when this sculpture was still in his Georgetown Maine studio, just after its creation.

This listing is for an original antique glass negative plate of a sculpture created by Gaston Lachaise, taken while it was still in his studio in Georgetown Maine, by best estimations, between 1915 - 1930.

The plate was formerly owned by John B. Pierce Jr.,the great nephew of Madame Lachaise, who visited the Lachaises at their home in Georgetown, Maine during the summers since he was a child and who also later resided himself in Georgetown, a short distance away. He very close to the Lachaises all their lives and founded the Lachaise Foundation in 1963 and remained managing trustee of it till his death in Maine in 2006.

I did not clean this plate off before attempting to photograph it, so as to be sure not to in any way damage the fragile plate.

The size of this unique one-of-a kind original antique glass plate is approximately 8\"x10\".
