Antique all original Nine Key Ophicleide ca. 1850. The bell isstamped “HENRY a DIJON” with the encircled G A and anchor the symbol forGautrot of Paris below the Dijon name. Theinstrument tunes to C (high pitch). The Ophicleide has undergone considerable restoration,has new pads, and is ready to play. The instrument has had many cracksrepaired. The Ophicleide has two large patches. The first is above the bottomu-bend on the side leading to the lead pipe. The second in on the inside of thebell, about seven inches down from the top, where some significate brass losshas occurred. All the restoration has been professionallydone by Dick Hansen Brass Repair and Restoration. The Ophicleide is 41and ½ inches long, and the bell diameter is8 and ¼ inches. The instrument comes with a modem custom built coffin case.
