21 Aug. 1965 --- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration launched the Gemini-5 spacecraft from Pad 19 at 9 a.m. (EST) Aug. 21, 1965, on a planned eight-day orbital mission. Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper Jr. was the command pilot and astronaut Charles Conrad Jr. was the pilot. A full duration mission will achieve the longest manned spaceflight to date.A WORD ABOUT MY RESEARCH ONDIFFERENT NASA VINTAGE PHOTOS; There are many different markings youcan find on NASA vintage photos such as , red or black numbers, no numbers,NASA description on back, or no description.

The key factor of a true first generation NASA vintage is the paper. Not justthe Kodak paper but the heavy fiber paper is the key.

Most think a red number is an earlier photo and therefore more valuable. Myresearch tells me they are all equal. The only difference is the person developing the photo and the color of ink used, again all must be on heavy fiber paper to be the earliest. The Holy Grail of photos. This is a first generation NASA RED serial numbered photo on heavy fiber Kodak paper. The red # photos are very scarce and very few are left on the open market.Photo in excellent condition, see picksOn shipments over seas ...... Shipping insurance only covers this item within the US.
