Major General John Edward Bernard Seely, 1st Baron Mottistone [1868 1947] was a British politician who served as the Secretary of State for War [1912 - 1914] a prominent military commander who was a veteran of the Second Boer War and World War I. He is best remembered for leading one of the last great cavalry charges in history at the Battle of Moreuil Wood during World War Ion his war horse Warrior in March of 1918. Seely was a close friend of Winston Churchill and was the only former British cabinet minister to go to the front in 1914, and serve there the entire war. Listed for sale is the autograph of Major General John Edward Bernard Seely signed on a card.
