This is a genuine US flying eagle penny, minted in Philadelphia in 1858.

This coin has surface pitting covering both sides. 

On the obverse, there is a little detail in the wreath.  Bow is smooth. 

I would grade this coin as a Very Good, due to the pitting.  I will let you be the final judge of its condition.

In 1858, Minnesota was admitted to the Union.  Denver was founded.  The  Pike\'s Peak Gold Rush began.  The first Lincoln-Douglas Debate was held.

These coins circulated throughout the US before and during the Civil War.  This is a historic coin.  It would make a nice filler in a collection.
