Offered for sale by Caspar’s Place is a vintage sterling silver cold meat serving fork in\"Georgian\" introduced in 1898 by Towle. The pattern was designed by George P. Tilton. Itis marked with “925/1000,” Towle’s maker’s mark, “STERLING” and “PAT 1898.”

The fork has a lovely cursive monogram which Ibelieve is “CM”. It is in good estatecondition.

Thepiece weighs approximately 2.3 troy ounces and is roughly7.75” long.

Formed in 1882 by Anthony Francis Towle, Towle Manufacturing Company ofNewburyport, Massachusetts, eventually became Towle Silversmiths under whichname high-end silver is still produced. Themark of a large script \"T\" enclosing a lion was first adopted byTowle in 1890. A.F. Towle was also theowner of A.F. Towle & Son Company, in business from 1873 to 1902.
