Up for your consideration is a circa 1970s handmade hammered sterling silver and turquoise modernist brutalist pendant necklace by California studio artist Gerald Stinn. What started out as a hobby for the former art teacher turned into Stinn\'s career. Stinn opened his first store in California in 1967. Each piece is made by hand.

The necklace is comprised of 18 long hammered links attached to each other with silver brads that allow the links to articulate. The pendant has varied textures of smooth and hammered surfaces surrounding the large turquoise cabochon. On the right side of the pendant is an openwork area in which an oxidized brutalist type texture has been applied. The sturdy asymmetric bale of the pendant nestles into the center of a flat, curved rod which keeps the pendant in place. You can see the hidden closure in the images.

Size: 20\" wearable length. Pendant-2 1/2\" L. from top of bale x 1 1/2\" W. x 1/2\" thick.

Weight: 96.6 gms

Marks: Sterling. Stinn. On both closure and on pendant verso.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips to stone. Nice warm patina.

Shipping: I ship USPS First Class. I will wrap your treasure in bubble wrap and place in a padded envelope to make sure it gets to you safe and sound.
