Offered for sale is a rare M-18 cut-out helmet. This particular helmet was reissued from the defeated German WWI army and reissued to the German-Finnish forces at the start of WWII.. As with all WWI reissued helmets, it was equipped and retro-fitted with a new liner and chinstrap system. Since this helmetretained its’ original WWI liner band they riveted the new chinstrap to the shell and riveted the liner band. Once issued, this helmet was camouFlaged white for the winter war with the USSR. This was likely used in the first defensive battle with the Russians in the winter of 1939-1940. The white winter camo paint has yellowed and fadedas expectedand itspatina around the helmet lugs and rivets are unquestionable age and authenticity. The liner is still intact and firmly in the shell. Although you can no longer make out size and manufactures code. it is an ET64. There are two shell concussion cracks, front and top, see photos.
