This is either an an antique vintage german silver chatelaine coin holder or change purse or a men\'s pcoket watch coin fob. There is a signet on the front of the change holder that has knight in amour atop shield with a triangular figure in the center of the shield with the balanced scales on one side and a torch on the other and some \"Greek\" lettering along the bottom banner....perhaps the insignia of the Knights of Pythias? Inside the coin purse is marked or stamped \"German Silver\" but has no maker\'s mark or hallmark that I can find.
German silver is defined as an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel and has no \"sterling\" content at all. It is also known as nickel silver.
Both coin slots work perfectly as well as the push knob closure. Great patina!
