Gettysburg National Bank Check Signed By George Swope Gettysburg:
$195.00

Gettysburg National Bank check signed by George Swope. At the time of The Battle of Gettysburg, Swope was the President of the Gettysburg National Bank and was the richest man in town. The Swope Manor was right in Gettysburg and only a few steps away, a soldier named Amos Humiston lie mortally wounded clutching the photo of his three children. This check is in excellent preserved condition. It is signed also by Gettysburg Borough President David Kendlehart who was the first townsperson to come in contact with the Confederates to hear their demands. Swope also signed the check on the reverse. There is a cancellation mark in the center of the check and only affcets the signature on the back slightly. A very nice check signed by one of Gettysburg most prominent citizens during the battle.
