Here we have one Girl Scout Gold Leaf Dangle Charm. It is made of metal and tiny, only approximately 1/4". It is meant to be attached to the bottom of a Leadership Development pin (see the last photo for example). More information about this award: Leadership Development Pin, introduced in 1987, is a 7/8" diameter round clutch-back pin, depicting a brown owl on a yellow background and featuring the words "LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT." The pin has five holes at the bottom to accommodate jump rings for attaching leaves in recognition of advanced training. The pin is presented at the conclusion of the first year of leadership, when the leader has completed basic leadership courses and fulfilled the other requirements for this award. A green metallic leaf is added to the pin upon completion of ten hours of further training.
In 1988, silver and gold leaves were introduced. When a leader received five green leaves, the recipient would remove them from her pin and add a silver leaf. One silver leaf represented 50 hours of training. In turn, a gold leaf replaced five silver leaves to recognize 250 hours of training.These cannot be purchased, they are only awarded to leaders that have earned them. So they can be a very difficult to come by for collectors!"This price is for ONE GOLD LEAF.
