$359.00

♥ This glamorous, 28\" long, circa 1929, cloth boudoir or bed doll was probably manufactured by either Gerling or Etta by using a Bucilla Embroidery Kit for the clothing design during the period following the Great Depression when ladies liked to decorate their homes with extravagantly dressed, long legged and saucy looking beauties. She has a beautiful, cotton sateen head with long neckline, (extended over the torso to allow for lower clothing neckline) original rose/pink, cloth torso, long slender, cloth arms and legs with composition shaped hands with individually molded fingers and cloth feet with elegant black leatherette shoes with wooden hi-heels and buckles. She has very nicely molded and painted features including long slender nose, dainty shaped lips, side-glancing, downcast eyes with hi-lites, inserted long eyelashes as well as long painted eyelashes andeyebrows, pale blue eyeshadowand soft blushed complexion. She has her original, platinum blond, thick wig in long thick ringlets beneath her fabulous pink straw bonnet with face framing brim and green & blue ribbon trim to match that in the embroidery (usually these dolls had very sparse wigs under their hats) which is in perfect condition. She wears a lovely long, Victorian-style, finely embroidered pink organdy gown with \"V\" neckline wonderful matching pink organdy pantalettes (both trimmed with ruffles) and original long stockings. She is in excellent overall condition with no damages, no stains, fading or dust, (few fabric age splits in skirt especially around the embroidery detail, very faint water mark on cheek which is magnified by the camera) no repainting or repairsand no odorsas she is from a smoke free home.TheseArt Decodolls were often used to decorate a bed or boudoir chair andwere \"quite the rage\" during the 30s and 40s. Most were discarded long ago. Other antique boudoir dolls arenot included and each is listed separately.
