Absolutely flawless: I looked for better than a year for a pair of MADE IN THE USA Gokey Chukkas that weren\'t ragged out, narrow width... or over $200. I purchased these online back in the spring and have anguished as they have sat in my closet. I take a size 11 normally, and I thought - with Gokey\'s supple leather - I could make a 10.5 work. I can\'t. They\'re just a quarter-size too small, which means I sit and look at them instead of wearing them. So, it\'s time to let someone else have them and I\'ll go buy a true size 11.
I\'ll cut to the chase: I don\'t merely want you to like these. I want you tolove them. Theclassic Gokey boot is peerless, made here in the Midwest with exceptional craftsmanship and durability. As I hope the photos show, these are like the day they came out of the box. The bottom tread isn\'t even scratched, the interiorfootbed displays the \"Gokey\" nameplate as new... every detail is superb. We don\'t smoke, and we have no pets (except for hunting dogs... and I certainly didn\'t wear these inthe pheasant field), and there are no blemishes, imperfections ormaliforous aromas to contend with. These are simply excellent.
One of my favorite outdoor ear retailers and purveyors of fine fly fishing andshooting sports goods sells a version ofthe Gokey chukka -- the \"Sauvage\" -- but, regrettably, it\'s made in China and simply isn\'t the same. They also ask $279 for them - which is reasonable for a lifetime boot from America, but not for a mass-produced version from Asia. These are the former.
