LOCATION
The Gold Payday #1twenty acre unpatented lode claimis located in southeast La Paz County about 6.5 miles SE of Salome, Az and about 4 miles south of HWY 60. The claim has good access via the El Paso Natural gas line road off of Hwy 60. There is another access road that will provide you access for your RV or travel trailer to the claim if you so desire. There are several roads cutting through the claim but I wouldn\'t recommend taking a large RV or travel trailer onto the claim itself until you personally check the roads. There are several nice RV parks and motels in Salome. Please contact us for more info.
MINERALIZATION
The claim Is situated on the extreme northwest end of the Harquahala Mountains on a gentle slope. The host rocks consist of altered medium grained granite, folded bleached gneiss with considerable limonite staining.Goldoccurs in the fractures of the iron-stained granite and gneiss. Rusty, vuggy quartz veins, veinlets and iron stained shear zones carrygoldin pockets, seams and stringers.Placergoldhas been recovered in many of the small desert washes and gulches that drain into the main wash. We have recovered nice nuggets with a metal detector higher up slope, near the vein outcrops. A old timer found a3/4 ounce piece under a tree on the surface near the claim.
