We are offering for sale a beautiful and high quality Victorian silver dish.

This navette-shaped dish is superbly decorated with chased and pierced scrollwork above a demi-fluted base with floral motif to the centre. Each end terminates in a human maskwith acanthus decorated handle and the whole stands on a fluted, pedestal foot.

This is a good-sized basket that would be perfect as a table centrepiece for perhaps displaying fruit or similar. It was made by one of the best silversmiths of the late 19th century and remains in excellent condition throughout.
