RARE EXQUISITE EMBROIDERED KASHMIR SHAWL WITH \"SIGNATURE\", GREAT CONDITION

Thisis a beautiful very fine cashmere shawl from c.1855, made in Kashmir in India. It was embroidered with cashmere wool on a kani tapestry woven base of red cashmere. This is completely handwoven and hand embroidered, unique, and in remarkable condition. The design and unfaded perfect condition are extremely rare in Kashmir shawls of any era and this one is in lovely condition, especially considering it is almost 200 years old! The colors are fabulous, as is the pattern with flowers within flowers within paisley forms and other organic imagery. It measures 73 inches wide by 74 inches long with glorioussaturated colors. It has end gates that are embroidered on four sides on even nicer cashmere wool. The embroidery is also magnificent and complete. The shawl is finely woven, with lovely lustrous cashmere yarn and soft to the touch. This shawlhas a remarkably wonderful array of jewel like colors, wovenvery beautifully. The execution of the design is quite rare and worthy of collecting. The paisley design of the pine curved, turning into lively vining and floral patterns into the center is dreamlike and captivating. This is such a gem!

The exquisite harmony of the design and finecolorof this shawl makes itunusually beautiful quality. The colors are red, indigo blue, gold,green, black, cream, pink, dark red, lavender. The center of the shawl has been carefully mended in the center with backing.and is strong and barely visible.
