Gorgeous Ikki Matsumoto Framed Matted Flamingo Signed Numbered Print

This is a fabulous signed & numbered vibrant flamingo print by artist Ikki Matsumoto (USA 1935 – 2014). Matsumoto was born in Tokyo, Japan, but moved to the US as a young man to study art at the University of Cincinnati under the noted wildlife artist, Charley Harper. After getting married, he moved to Sanibel Island, FL and opened a gallery with his work. His popularity grew and he enjoyed wide success with his original art, prints, calendars, and illustrations for books. He is especially known for his charming line illustrations that appear in the latest edition of The Joy of Cooking. This striking serigraph print is professionally quadruple matted & framed. Print is signed by Ikki Matsumoto (“Ikki”) also red seal stamped with Mr Matsumoto’s hallmark. Print is a limited edition #914 of 2000. Framed artwork measures 20” wide x 25” tall x 1 ¾” deep with the actual art measuring about 9 ¾” wide x 14” tall. Art has a secure wire hanger on the back. Art is in excellent condition with some light wear to the frame (see pics for a couple of bruises & one small wood flake spot). There is a tear in the paper backing at the top area on back and a one smaller one near the bottom edge.
