A Rare Estate Find!
Up for sale is a fabulous vintage hand made Chinese Silk Opera Coat or Evening Robe,c1960\'s.
This could be for either a man or a woman; see measurements below:Across the shoulder seams: 16.5\"
Length of arm to cuff: 22\"
Across the underarm seams: 18.5\" \"
Back neck to bottom hem: 53\"The blue brocade is woven in a multi-color pattern of pastel jewel tones, reminiscent of Chinese Export Porcelain, with flowers, trees, bridges, temples and scenic designs, accented heavily with gold thread throughout.
The coat has a deep V-front with wide, herringbone-quilted upturned lapels and two flower-shaped frogs looped onto two large knotted buttons.
The upturned cuffs are alsoquilted and have an Oriental point.
Two deep pockets.
A separate matching belt.

The lining is a beautiful shade of turquoise silk, soft and shimmery.
There is an interior tie on the right seam.
Aside from some wear to the loops and knot buttons, the robe is in excellentvintage, dry-cleaned condition.
