Sterling Insert Holding the Crystal Inkwell

From a Connecticut Estate sale comes this Gorgeous Vintage Birmingham, England STERLING SILVER Barker Ellis INKWELL with a Sterling Insert Holding the Crystal Inkwell.

With the silver weighing 7.2 ounces (200 grams), this hinged piece stands 2 ½” tall to the shell form thumb rest. As shown, it is prominently marked for Barker Ellis, Birmingham and 1987 with what I believe are the initials BDC engraved on the lid. This is in excellent condition with only one small easily repaired bend along the edge at the base.

All of my silver has been lightly polished for its photo shoot but can always benefit from additional polishing.
