Vintage Obi RemnantThis gorgeous length of fabric is cut from a length of disassembled vintage Japanese obi ....the very long opulent wide sash worn around the waist by geisha.
This piece is a medium to heavy weight woven tapestry of a rayon fabric with silver lame and orange & yellow-gold threads woven to make this unique stylized geometric pattern.The lame threads offer a slight bit of luster to the weave.The orange and gold threads are a matte sateenThe last 2 pics shows the back side of the fabric which is equally beautiful and could be used also or instead.It is in good condition with exception of 1 tear near one end...see pic w/arrow There is an overall faint/subtle aged patina to the front, but the back side had been protected, so it has little blemish to it.Measures 12\" x 70\"
